Search Continues for Missing Teens

Posted: Updated:

The search continues for two northern Michigan teens.

A private investigator has joined the search for Jayden Thomas of Clare, 13, and Braxton Wood of Mt. Pleasant, 14.

According to the Isabella County Sheriffs Department, the teens were spotted recently in the area, but by the time the tip made it to police the teens were gone.

The sheriffs department is asking everyone to call 911 if they see the teens or the black Ford Explorer they've been driving.

According to police, the Black Ford Explorer the teens took when they left was spotted near the Mackinac Bridge on Friday.

According to the families, the teens were dating for about five months.

Police say they have been missing since Monday, August 26. Facebook messages suggested the teens may be headed to Florida, but both families don't think they could make it there.

It's not clear why the teens left.

Police do not believe Jayden and Braxton are in danger.

The teens are believed to be driving a black 2005 Ford Explorer.  License plate number BCQ4820.

If you see them or the vehicle please call your local police department or Isabella County Central Dispatch at 989-773-1000.

9&10's Breelynn Martin and Photojournalist Jacob Johnson talked with police and the private investigator.
